Spain, Your Value Shore® Destination for IT Sourcing

Under this slogan, the member companies of the Spanish Association of Consulting Firms (AEC in its Spanish acronym) worked for over a year on defining a concept which will help make Spain the right location for developing major European sourcing projects. The talent and logistical and financial aspects of our professionals are our main allies, allowing us to take up an advantageous position among the world’s countries competing at this level.

There is currently a gap between what is involved in analyzing and defining business needs (VALUE) and the simple development of code (INDIAN’S). It is quite easy to grasp that having one without the other means that it is not possible to achieve satisfactory results for clients.

There are several reasons which have driven us to work on this opportunity. The most noteworthy is in the area of developing the value layer, that is, defining the business model in objective terms. Many failures are the result of not paying due attention to this stage. Much time and money have been spent to resolve this unique situation.

Once again, confidence is at the forefront of our project. Major European international companies are in need of this service and Spanish consultancies are prepared to go international in order to provide it. This is a question of confidence which is easy to resolve. Clients can hire a “pilot” project, allowing them to measure capabilities with minimal risk. When it is a success, they have achieved significant savings and superior execution.

The AEC has demonstrated its leadership capabilities in managing the large work group which made it possible to define the concept. Both institutional and financial support were sufficient throughout the process. The event which took place in Madrid in October 2008 with the most noted international analysts contributed successfully to putting our value shore® concept on the map. The commercial management model to be followed by all members of the Value Shore group is an example of the solidarity which enriches the AEC. Lastly, the first road show held recently in London was a success due to its very prestigious attendees and speakers. Site visits and further road shows in other major European cities will enable us to drive home the success of this most Spanish technology project.
